The Challenge

Chefs, restaurateurs and anyone else involved in the food industry face the daily challenge of juggling fluctuating prices, food quality and product quantities. It’s not uncommon for them to get lost in confusing lists of recipes and ingredients. MenuKit has addressed this problem and connected directly with the right solution partner.

Target Audience & Problem Solving

The target group of the tool is a wide variety of catering businesses. With the help of the MenuKit, both professionals and career changers should be able to get an overview of the dishes on offer (recipes) and their composition (ingredients) and, above all, costs. Project Requirements

The goal was to design a calculation tool that processes all prices on a daily basis with maximum overview, groups products in the form of recipes, and adapts them to everyday gastronomy through flexible editing options. Both a chef and an operations manager should use the Menukit “with tablet in hand” to standardize procedures, optimize menus and processes, and always keep track of costs.

Our Solution

An overall analysis was started with the aim of finding out which processes are important for whom and how. In the process, concepts from the areas of development, UX, design and business were linked together. Further, user-centric features were iteratively developed in an agile way. This process focuses on the needs of the users, the added value of technology and development effort is continuously evaluated, and the procedure is flexibly adapted in the interests of the customer.
